Founder's Message
Welcome to the ASLEK Epilepsy Foundation, where our mission is to provide hope, support, and advocacy for individuals affected by epilepsy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
When I founded ASLEK, my vision was clear: to create an inclusive and compassionate community dedicated to improving the lives of those living with epilepsy. In our country, epilepsy is often misunderstood and stigmatized, leading to unnecessary suffering and isolation for many.
At ASLEK, we are committed to changing this narrative through education, awareness, and comprehensive care. Our foundation is built on the pillars of support, empowerment, and community. We provide vital resources and services, including medical assistance, counseling, and educational programs, to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of epilepsy. By working closely with healthcare professionals, local communities, and international partners, we strive to ensure that everyone affected by epilepsy has access to the care and support they need. We are also currently on clinical research to provide the best care for epilepsy. ASLEK also focuses on raising awareness and breaking down the myths and misconceptions surrounding epilepsy. Through outreach campaigns, workshops, and advocacy efforts, we aim to educate the public and promote a more inclusive and supportive environment for those living with this condition. We believe that every person with epilepsy deserves to live a life of dignity and opportunity. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to human rights and the belief that together, we can create a society where epilepsy is understood, accepted, and treated with the urgency it deserves. Thank you for joining us on this journey. With your support, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals and families across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Together, we can turn the tide against epilepsy and foster a future where no one faces this challenge alone.
